Programme Note

A short, bright and brash concert opener for large orchestra, Fanfare for a Gala was written for the 2010 Sing-Up Gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The rhythm of the phrase 'Sing-Up Gala' appears throughout the piece, and the focus is on strident bitonal harmonies, driving rhythms and lively orchestration.
